Kendra Martin is a native of Greensboro, NC, and came to Sanford in 2007. A graduate of UNC-Greensboro, Kendra also holds the Duke Certificate in Nonprofit Management. She joined the staff of then-United Way of Lee County in 2014 to oversee its VolunteerLee.com program and became Executive Director of the organization in 2016.
Kendra serves on the Board of Directors of United Way of North Carolina and is a active in community organizations and task forces, including S3 Housing Connect, addressing homelessness in Lee County and the Human Services Technology Advisory Board of Central Carolina Community College. She is the Chair of the Lee County Transportation Advisory Board and is the Local Board Chair of the Emergency Food & Shelter Program. Kendra enjoys connecting people with meaningful opportunities for service. She loves reading, baking, and spending time with her family, especially at the beach!
